Jose Bautista - 3rd Best in the AL

Today the Baseball Writers’ Association of America deemed Jose Bautista as the third best player in the league, behind Jacoby Ellsbury and Justin Verlander. Yes … Justin Verlander.

A pitcher won an award typically reserved for position players that grind it out day-in-day out for a 162 game schedule.

Just after the award was announced, I put out this tweet and it’s already garnered 100+ retweets. I guess a lot of folks must agree!

Just in case you weren’t already excited about this year’s edition of MLB 12 The Show, you should be now! Interestingly enough, this new trailer featuring Jose Bautista is pretty accurate.

They show a replay of Jose Bautista hitting a home run off Carl Pavano at the Rogers Centre. And indeed Bautista went yard off Pavano at the 2011 Home Opener. Even Carl Pavano’s moustache is portrayed accurately!

Is it weird that I noticed that?
