Randy Johnson Almost Traded to the Blue Jays

It nearly happened in 1993: a trade to bring Randy Johnson to the Blue Jays was agreed in principle. The reason why it didn’t happen was Pat Gillick couldn’t reach Seattle Mariners GM Woody Woodward, as he was out on the golf course.
After he finished his round, Woodward called Gillick back and agree on the trade: Randy Johnson for Mike Timlin and Steve Karsay. But Gillick had already dealt Karsay to the Athletics for Ricky Henderson.
Oh, what could have been for the Blue Jays!
